《毒蛇王后》剧情简介
本剧基于Leonie Frieda的书籍《Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France》创作，《革命之路》编剧Justin Haythe负责剧本，Stacie Passon担任首播集在内的多集导演。
凯瑟琳·德·美第奇，意大利贵族和法国王后。她是瓦卢瓦王朝国王亨利二世的妻子和随后3个国王的母亲，在16世纪的法国产生了巨大的影响。凯瑟琳被认定为平淡无奇、无足轻重的外国人，身为孤儿的她14岁就嫁到了法国宫廷，被期盼能带来一大笔嫁妆，并生育许多继承人，结果她却发现丈夫爱上了一个年长的女人，嫁妆未被支付，自己也没能生育孩子。然而，仅仅凭借聪明才智和决心，她成功地维持了自己的婚姻，并比其他任何人都更好地掌握了君主制的核心，统治了法国50年之久。
